The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn

The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn is an association of barristers and judges and is one of the historic four Inns of Court. The Inn is dedicated to the qualification, training and development of its members, at all stages of their legal careers, in a collegiate and inclusive environment. The Inn has been in existence for over 600 years, with continuous records dating all the way back to 1422 and has more than 20,000 members. Our members are at the heart of what we do.

The Inn’s unique eleven-acre estate in the heart of London is comprised of Grade I and II listed buildings, tranquil gardens, office space, commercial and residential property. It boasts a leading law library, stunning Chapel (whose foundation stone was laid by the poet John Donne in 1623), the MCR Restaurant and Bar, Great Hall (opened by Queen Victoria in 1845 and in which Members’ Lunch is still served daily), Old Hall (built circa 1490 and the setting for the opening of Charles Dickens’ Bleak House) and the Ashworth Centre (opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2018).

In addition to our member services, Lincoln’s Inn is also a popular filming location, wedding venue and conference facility.
