Matthew Marshall

Matthew Marshall is in his fourth year as the Executive Chef at Royal Automobile Club, one of the world's most prestigious private members' clubs, where he oversees 40 outlets spread across two clubhouses.

A member of The Academy of Culinary Arts, Matthew’s earliest food memories stem from making apple pie with his grandmother on her farm where she raised 11 children. After being inspired by her passion and skill for cooking, Matthew began working in kitchens from the age of 15, before leaving school to pursue his vocation full-time.

Over the years, Matthew’s talent has seen him firmly forge a highly regarded career, having been awarded titles in the prestigious Le Salon Culinaire International de Londres and Winner of Trophee International de Cuisine et Patisserie. More recently, his recreation of the now iconic Sanderson Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea drew wide recognition and praise, winning the Best Afternoon Tea Award 2016.

Having previously held positions at Chamberlains of London and the Sanderson, Matthew has lent his culinary talents to cooking for Her Majesty The Queen, as well as a series of prestigious events at St James’ Palace, Windsor Castle, Trinity House, The Tower of London, St Paul’s Cathedral and HMS Victory.

In addition, Matthew has always been keen to fuse his passion for cooking with the support of charitable causes and has participated in many notable events including the ‘Square Mile Salute’ for The Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes.
